Learn the basics of the GIMP interface as you customize a rad cartoon cat! Drop-in program during Teen Time every 2nd Wednesday (except Nov). Please arrive no later than 5 PM!
Learn the basics of the GIMP interface as you customize a rad cartoon cat. This program will be held in the Mac Lab on the 3rd floor, just off of the Teen Area. Drop-ins in the target age group are welcome as long as there is space, but the curriculum takes about an hour to cover! Try to arrive no later than 5 PM to have enough time to finish your projects!
GIMP is an open-source graphics program—similar to Photoshop, but free! GIMP allows you to create graphics or edit photos using a variety of customizable tools and features. This class will introduce teens to the interface and encourage them to express themselves through digital art! The projects our participants create will be featured in a class Art Display on the 3rd floor.
This program is for ages 13 - 19 years old only.
Key Terms (to be covered as time allows): layers, transparency, float selection, opacity, color picker, bucket tool, pattern, gradient
