Imitate an Illustrator Series-Session 1: Elly MacKay

Learn how to make illustrations in the style of your favorite books! Each week will focus on a different illustrator. Attend all 6 sessions, or pick and choose!

Join us to practice the illustration styles of children's book artists! This week, we will be making paper dioramas in the style of artist Elly MacKay, who uses light and transparency to create art with a hazy watercolor texture. This hands-on activity will stimulate your child's creativity and imagination, while helping them develop critical fine motor skills. 

We will provide all the materials for this program. This program was funded by the Friends of the Library Montgomery County.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
